The Ministry of Government Relations, Northern Municipal Services (NMS), is seeking a highly-motivated, strategic and collaborative leader for the role of Northern Municipal Administration Advisor (NMAA) for northwest communities within the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District (NSAD).

Reporting to the Manager, Northern Municipal Administration, the NMAA will support and facilitate the execution of the Ministry's decisions on governance and administration of 4 northern settlements and 5 resort subdivisions within NSAD in the northwest; work to bring together the efforts of all units within NMS, the NMAA ensures the NSAD achieves its strategic priorities and works collaboratively with other northern municipalities; foster an engaged workforce with ample opportunities for development, providing excellence in customer service and delivering projects on time and within budget are all central to the role; and build integrated teams to deliver services that effectively address the strategic priorities set out by NMS.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with experience leading complex municipal organizations; skilled in engaging a wide range of stakeholders and collaboratively working alongside others to transform service delivery and champion innovation; and an effective communicator with a track record that showcases commitment to and passion for service excellence and responsiveness.

Typically, the knowledge skills and competencies for this position requires at least 5 years work experience as Chief Administrative Officer with incorporated municipalities in Canada or a provincial/territorial ministry of municipal affairs in an advisory and inspection role, and possess professional certification as a municipal administrator from a recognized authority in the country. A university degree will be an asset.
