Job Description: The COVID Communicable Disease Control Coordinator is accountable for planning, implementation and evaluation of COVID related Communicable Disease Control (CDC) programs within the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The COVID CDC Coordinator's scope of practice requires a broad knowledge base and autonomous decision-making skills, with a specialized focus on implementation of provincial standards related to Communicable Disease Control. The coordinator role provides program orientation, ongoing in-servicing and support to designated COVID response staff, including Public Health Nurses within an interdisciplinary service delivery model. CDC. This position is also responsible for auditing program standards for staff adherence, as well as CDC reporting required by the Ministry.
Required Qualifications
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Bachelor's degree in Nursing with course credits in community health and public health nursing required.
Experience
Candidates with a minimum of 5 years recent relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Effective oral and written communication skills
Utilizes epidemiological models to explain disease patterns in community health
Knowledge related to Saskatchewan Communicable Disease Control standards in the Communicable Disease Control Manual
Knowledge of community development and population health promotion concepts.
Knowledge of research and statistical collection concepts.
Skills in program planning and evaluation specifically the development of standards of care/guidelines/policies and procedures pertaining to Communicable Dise
