Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, or her/his designate, the GVRS Outreach Caseworker will assist in case management and in the field service delivery of the GVRS Outreach Program, as they provide direct services for hard to serve individuals in the community.
Duties:
- In the field work with the clients in the program, including:
- Make the necessary services as easily accessible as possible for clients in the program
- Promote positive independent problem solving and decision making skills
- Provide transportation to clients in the program
Assist in case management and support for clients in the program, including:
- Provide stabilization crisis support
- Provide incidental problem solving and emotional support to clients
- Provide emergency, incidental behavior management (non-violent crisis intervention)
- Refer clients to support services with other agencies
Qualifications:
- University Bachelors degree in the Human Services sector
- Minimum of one year work experience in program facilitation with individuals involved in the justice system
- Valid Saskatchewan drivers license.
- Clean Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector check
- First AID and CPR
Knowledge:
- A familiarity with the problems and characteristics of disadvantaged persons.
- A familiarity with street gangs in Prince Albert.
- A familiarity of the traditions, culture, and practices of Indigenous people.
