Program Generalist
Description: Working with a team to deliver culturally relevant Indigenous community-based programs, services, and events for children, youth, and adults.
Responsibilities may include:
Plan, prepare, and facilitate community-based programs and events for children, youth and adults;
Work with Indigenous Knowledge Keepers and Elders;
Prepare and provide nutritious snacks and meals;
Develop and maintain appropriate mentoring relationships with participants;
Assist with case-management;
Clean, sanitize, and organize program spaces and supplies;
Supervise and work with volunteers;
Maintain program and attendance records;
Deliver goods in company vehicle;
The following qualifications are considered mandatory:
Experience working with and supervising children and youth
Experience in facilitating community-based programs
Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
Basic computer skills
Excellent customer service skills
Valid drivers license and good driving record
First Aid CPR level C
Provide a current Criminal Record Check
Ability to lift 40 lbs
The following qualifications are considered assets:
Mental Health First Aid
Food Safe Level 1
Speak and teach local Indigenous languages
Knowledge of local Indigenous spiritual customs and practices
Any Post-Secondary relating to Mental Health, Youth Care, Child Care, Social Work, community development, recreation
Hours of work: Shift-work including day-time Monday to Friday, evenings, and occasional weekends. Hours will vary based on employee availability and program schedules.
