Personal Trust Advisor
The primary purpose of the position is to assist in the delivery of operational and technical expertise for administration of Estate and Trust administration files of less complexity.
The Personal Trust Advisor is responsible to ensure completion of tax returns in accordance to Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Concentra Trust requirements by providing effective analysis and determination of the type of tax return and processes required for each unique personal trust tax file. This role also ascertains documentation requirements and tax treatment methodology for initiation of the file through decision making and final recommendation for completion. This position will review and authorize tax returns completed by external tax preparer and authorize prior to sending to CRA, and initiate CRA payment as applicable for amounts owing for completed tax returns.
This role will also ensure the administration of assigned files are dealt with in accordance within understood product guidelines and parameters and posted service standards for accuracy and timeliness by following the terms set out in the Will or trust indenture or applicable legislation, and ensuring compliance with procedures for managing, monitoring and evaluating personal trust activities. This position works with the trust administrators, coordinating activities according to priorities.
This position is responsible to ensure risks are controlled within file administration, client statements and client service by reviewing department policy, procedure documents and other related manuals for accuracy to ensure and in accordance with applicable legislation and the common law.
