Facility: Buffalo Narrows Health Centre
Job Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, and under the general direction of the Manager of Mental Health Services the primary goal will be to provide clinical services to youth, family and community members regarding addiction and/or addiction related issues by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs. Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group counseling sessions with clients. This position will be expected to assed individual and group needs of clients and implement plans to help clients reach their goals.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Chemical Dependency studies or another Bachelor Degree acceptable to the employer
Bachelor Degree in Social Work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
A two year diploma in Addictions Studies, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
Additional Training in human services management or administration would be preferred.
Ability and Agreement to become a member of Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF) and actively work towards Certification within the first year of employment.
Minimum 2 years of direct clinical experience including human service management.
Experience working in a cross cultural setting is desirable.
Eligibility to join a professional association.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Knowledge of community development process including how to develop sustainable programs and services
Ability to speak a First Nations or Mtis language is an asset
Knowledge of best practices in the menta
