Fast Genetics is currently seeking highly motivated people to fill several full-time Swine Production Technician positions at our new Manitou Barn location. The successful candidate would ideally live in the surrounding communities, but foreign recruits are welcome to apply as we hire through the Saskatchewan Immigration Nomination Program.

This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions:
-Performing specific department duties;
-Ensuring proper health, handling, and comfort of animals; ie: daily health checks;
-Carrying out daily care routines;
-Weigh, sort and move pigs;
-Ensuring feed and water systems are working properly;
-Monitor and maintain proper ventilation and temperature using an automated control system;
-Performing minor maintenance tasks;
-Power washing empty pens and prepping rooms for animal entry;
-Keeping accurate records on all animals as requested; ie: pig identification;
-Working in a safe manner while performing all job duties;
-Performing other general farm duties as required.

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:
-Self-motivated and reliable,
-Team player;
-Outstanding organization and communication skills and demonstrates attention to detail;
-Able to manage priorities and solve problems
-Previous livestock experience;
-Share in Fast Genetics core values
-Drivers license;
-College certificate or other specialized training in agriculture or livestock husbandry with 1-2 years of experience would be an asset, but not a requirement, as on the job training is provided.


Wages range from $14.00-$19.50/hr and are based on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications.
