Description

As a Software Developer on the SRE team, you will work closely with other developers to create scalable, performant, observable, and highly-reliable software systems. The SRE team focuses on R&D growth and support with Vendasta development teams being their primary customer.

Youll need to have strong programming skills and be creative with technology to find the right solution for awesome developer experiences. Youll be a problem-solver leveraging your excellent communication skills - SRE developers have considerable ownership of infrastructure, services, integrations, and tools used by developers - and we ensure these are operational. You must be driven and motivate yourself and others to get things done. Wed like you to have aspirations to become a thought leader at Vendasta, driving positive results across our development organization. We cherish experimentation with new technologies to increase developer speed, safety, and reduction of toil. SRE aims to positively impact the observability and maturity of our platform while providing guidance and education to mature Vendasta into an SRE-compatible organization.

Responsibilities
Develop software in a team of 3-5 developers, with the ability to take on tasks from the team and independently work on them to completion.
Follow best practices to write clean, maintainable, scalable, and tested software.
Advocate production readiness best-practices through example and guidance.
Participate in an on-call rotation responding to critical incidents.

Skills & Qualifications
3-5 years in software development
Experience or strong understanding with high scalability, data-intensive, distributed internet applications
Proficiency in modern software language, and willingness to quickly learn our technology stack
Evidence of strong communication skills, written and verbal
Experience with debugging, performance profiling, and optimization
A desire to help people and make others awesome
