Description

The Ministry is currently seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated individual who is a flexible team player for the position of Park Maintenance Worker for provincial park lands within Buffalo Pound Provincial Park. In addition and when necessary, you may work at our recreational sites located at Lovering Lake or Wood Mountain Historical Provincial Park of Saskatchewan Parks Service. Reporting to the Supervisor, this position will be involved in the maintenance program.

As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform a variety of repair and general maintenance activities on buildings, trails and grounds. You will operate light-to-medium equipment such as light trucks, riding mower, skid steer, power tools and other equipment as directed. You will perform janitorial and sanitation functions, pick up and disposal of garbage and debris. You will assist with the maintenance and care of park facilities and grounds including the pool facilities, at the bison corrals, or at our recreational sites outside the park. You will assist with the monitoring and inspection of the water systems and sewer systems under the direction of the supervisor. This position involves frequent lifting, carrying and moving supplies and equipment. You will comply with risk management standards, OH&S, Public Health Regulations, WHMIS, TDG. This position may be required to supervise staff.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of basic cleaning methods (materials, equipment and methods commonly used in housekeeping/janitorial and sanitation activities); safe equipment and building operation, maintenance and minor repair.  You will have knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S Regulations. The successful candidate must possess a current valid Drivers Licence and must be available to work on evenings and weekends.
