Job Description: Reporting to the Manager Primary Health SE 9, the Diabetic Nurse Educator is a member of the S.C.H.R. diabetic management team. Key aspects of the job are improving the quality of life of persons with diabetes in the S.C.H.R. through the promotion of and provision of diabetic education and treatment and serving as a resource to health-care professionals and others to ensure consistent and high quality care for clients with diabetes by sharing recent advances, knowledge, and experiences in diabetic care.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Current certification with Canadian Diabetes Educator Certification Board (CDECB) required upon employment
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice
Presentation skills
Willingness to participate in on-going training and professional development
Other Information

Must be able to travel and/or have access to travel

The successful candidate is responsible to obtain and provide an original Criminal Record Check (CRC) & Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) from their local police service, RCMP or previous country/countries of residence that is dated within the past six (6) months that is satisfactory to the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
