Description

Log & Timber Frame company requires a production technologist to prepare, review and execute shop drawings for the manufacture of components required in the assembly of Log & Timber structures. Additionally, to perform take offs & costing on manufactured components & materials required in the construction of a residential home.
Qualifications
    Excellent Blueprint Reading Skills
    Experience in shop drawing production from a truss or prefab plant considered an asset
    Experience in Carpentry, Concrete Footings, PWF Framing, General Framing
    Understanding & Knowledge of all Related Trades & Materials in Home Construction
    In-depth knowledge of construction industry regulations
    Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
    Engineering Background considered an asset
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    Excellent communication and computer skills.
    Experience in CAD
Responsibilities
    Managing the design stages of construction projects.
    Contributing technical expertise to project drawings and designs.
    Performing cost calculations
    Review & Approval of shop drawings for the manufacture of Timber Frame & Log Work Construction.
    Perform material take-offs and cost estimation for residential projects
    Overseeing construction engineering processes
    Prepare reports, designs and drawings
    Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction
    Analyze configurations of the basic components of a structure.
    Liaise with professional staff such as architects and engineers
