KidsFirst is a voluntary program that supports families with children prenatal to age 3. The program is delivered using curriculum that enhances parenting knowledge, builds on family strengths, and provides support. It is culturally relevant, child centered, family focused, and strength based. Duties include but are not limited to: Providing ongoing support services through home visits but also through in office visits and group activities. Focus on recruitment and support of prenatal women & families with children aged 0 3 yrs. Provide information and life skill development opportunities that promotes positive parent-child relationships, healthy growth and development, and enhanced family functioning. Work collaboratively as part of a team on planning, development, and implementation of the home visiting program & prenatal support services. Preference will be given to the candidate who has a combination of: Early Childhood certification and/or a Social Work degree or equivalent experience and education. Knowledge in early childhood development, family dynamics and prevention strategies, specifically in the area of prenatal support. Ability to relate to families who are experiencing a high degree of stress and an awareness of the challenges common to families at risk. Ability to build partnerships and to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to work both independently and as a team member. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, both oral and written and strong computer skills. Problem solving and critical thinking skills. Must possess a valid drivers license, have access to a reliable vehicle and obtain a $2,000,000.00 business liability insurance policy. Must be able to travel as required. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if required.
