Description

The Standing Buffalo Housing Department currently administers approximately 200 housing units. The purpose of the Tenant Relations Officer is to:
Work with Tenants and help them understand and carry out their housing responsibilities.
Help complete new & annual lease agreements
Review housing applications and confirm their eligibility
Counsel the applicants on their roles and responsibilities as a householder
Enforce the Housing Policy
Share information on housing programs and services with community members
Receive & review regular financial updates on each unit with each tenant and the Housing Manager
Follow up with tenants who are in arrears and help to organize their repayment plans
Assist with move in/ move out unit condition assessments
Respond to and investigate Tenant complaints and recommend corrective actions according to policy
Provide Tenant counselling to maintain a good working relationship through annual home visits or a home visit at the request of the Tenant and prepare a report of the visit
Liaise with Finance to obtain annual reconciliation of rental payments for each tenant
Liaise with other Standing Buffalo departments in regarding Tenant issues
Must be able to maintain tenant file and details of all contact (telephone calls, notices, home visits) payment history, tenant damage & other issues as required.
Must be able to prepare monthly arrears reports
Participate in Community Meetings & Information Sessions on Housing Programs & Services
