Job Description: The Health Educator - Harm Reduction is a member of the interdisciplinary team and under the general direction of Primary Care Manager this position is responsible for training, implementation, evaluation and community engagement of harm reduction efforts across Primary health care services.
Required Qualifications

Degree in addiction, social work or in a health/ social service field.
Experience
Experience demonstrating the ability to provide education and training to a variety of audiences (professionals, clients, general public) in different settings
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to coordinate/ provide training to clinical staff  and community members and community partners around  harm reduction initiatives as well as support implementation and evaluation of these initiatives.
Ability to coordinate/provide harm reduction education to people in rural settings with diverse cultural and socio-economic background.
Ability to adhere to a professional code of ethics.
Ability to form effective professional partnerships and networks.
Lead, motivate and complete administrative duties.
A strong knowledge of harm reduction, addiction, mental health and/or related issues and the effects on the individual, family unit and community.
Working knowledge of current technology and ability to perform computer tasks.
Ability to work with a high degree of professional independence and as a team member.
