Description

The North Service Area is requiring a Child & Caregiver Support Worker in Meadow Lake, to provide services under the Authority of The Child and Family Services Act and The Adoption Act.

You will provide a range of services designed to provide protective, preventative and support services to extended families, alternate caregivers, foster parents, adoptive parents, plus children and their families using the P.R.I.D.E. model and the Family Centered Case Management Model of practice.

As a Child & Caregiver Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivery of services, which include casework and resource planning related to a variety of programs for children in care, extended family caregivers, and or foster families.

You will work effectively and positively with co-workers, supervisors, the regional management team and caregivers to support regional directions that continuously improve or enhance service delivery to children and their families. You may be required to deliver training or facilitate groups for educational/support purposes. You may conduct intensive home studies for prospective extended family based caregivers, foster parents, adoptive families, and/or facilitate placements and provide post-placement support and maintenance.

To qualify for this position, you will possess a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work, or an equivalent Bachelor of Social Work degree from an accredited university, as approved by the SASW or CASW/CASWE.
