Facility: Youth Addictions Services
Job Description: The Health Educator is part of the health promotion team and is responsible for assessing the health and wellness needs of youth. The Health Educator (Youth Health Promotion Coordinator) is also responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating programs, and mobilizing community actions that aim to engage youth thereby decreasing substance use and increasing mental well-being in this population. The Health Educator (Youth Health Promotion Coordinator) will utilize and apply population health promotion strategies to prevent disease and increase the wellbeing
of youth across the region.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor degree in a Social Work, Psychology or other health related discipline.
Registration with or eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional association (if applicable)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Self-sufficient in using computer applications (Work, PowerPoint, Excel)
Ability to work with and engage multi-disciplinary groups
Ability to travel and work field (flexible) hours to meet program needs and objectives
Knowledge of program planning and evaluation
Ability to provide guidance and leadership to assist groups achieve program/project objectives and goals
Ability to take initiative and work both independently and as a team member
Ability to problem solve, be creative, innovative and self motivated
Knowledge of population health promotion, social determinants of health and/or community development principles
Ability to and skills in working with or engaging youth
Ability to work effectively in a cross cultural, diverse environment
Effective writing skills

Relocation Assistance of up to a maximum of $3,000 for a 1 year retur
