Job Description: The incumbent as an experienced practitioner in this position will have general responsibilities for:
-The coordination of patient care on the Inpatient Unit through comprehensive planning and the appropriate utilization of human and physical resources;
-Ensuring the highest quality and safe service provision within the Inpatient Unit and across the continuum of services in both indirect and when required direct care;
-Leadership is a key component,  the incumbent under the direction of the Manager shall, mentor, guide promote and ensure evidence based practice is adhered to in delivering the highest standards of care and treatment based on Policy, legislation, sound clinical judgment / discretion and is in keeping with Lean Management philosophy;
-Promoting public relations by fostering communication, collaboration, cooperation and liaising between and within the Inpatient Unit, Psychiatry Department, all other BMHC programs / services and other external and community agencies.

The incumbent will report directly to the Manager of Inpatient Services.

Required Qualifications:
A baccalaureate nursing degree from a recognized school of nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of three years experience in nursing, with experience as nursing supervisor.
Thorough knowledge and training in LEAN Management principles
