Description

The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring optimal production levels in assigned units and the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for the company.
Please note: this position is based out of the Head Office located in Humboldt, SK however the areas the position will be responsible for is to be determined, either in Saskatchewan and/or Alberta.  
General Responsibilities
Conducts site visits to maintain communication with Managers and staff
Engage in the development of plans for improvement, coaching and conflict resolution
Strive for high quality unit performance and high quality animal production
Set production targets for units and manages performance according to company targets
Review production data and updates records
Directly manage Unit Managers and indirect supervisory responsibility of staff
Determine staff level and animal numbers per unit
Assist and provide support in training of staff:  implementing SOPs, CQA monitoring and safety policies
Ensure biosecurity is enforced and followed
Perform corrective actions, terminations and suspensions with HR
Oversee expenditures for all Units including payroll
Approve expenditures of $2500+
Attend a variety of seminars
Take the lead role in a variety of meetings including other departments
Understand all OH&S regulations  promotes safe work procedures and maintenance as a healthy work environment
Responsible for safety and health of employees and units in their areas; ensure safety compliance and address safety issues with Unit Managers
Communicate maintenance issues with the Facilities Maintenance Department
Need to be available for emergency calls at the Unit
Ensure facility operates meeting CQA and ACA standards
Ensure all staff are providing proper care to animals
Ensure effective communication with the Feed Department
Monitor and support the feed budgeting process
Other duties as required
