The Town of Mossbank is accepting applications for the position of Public Works Manager. The successful candidate will begin training under the direction of the current Public Works Manager and senior staff as soon as possible.
The Public Works Manager reports to and takes direction from the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and is the primary officer responsible for the planning and management of the infrastructure, maintenance and operations of the Public Works Department, including roadways (streets, lanes, sidewalks), water, sewer and storm utilities, pest control and spraying, waste management and recycling (depot service), cemetery, recreational facilities (pool, spray park, rink, halls, parks, etc.), and associated staff including the enforcement of safety regulations and procedures. The Public Works Manager also maintains strong relationships with contractors and is the point of contact when conducting works under his or her jurisdiction.
Qualifications:
- Small systems water and wastewater certification is required but training may be provided by the Town (Class 1 certification or better is an asset);
- Valid Drivers Licence required;
- Plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and computer skills are an asset;
- Experience operating heavy equipment is required (grader specific experience is an asset); and
- Experience in maintenance or public works is an asset.
Salary will be dependent upon education and experience but is expected to range from $45,000 to $70,000 per annum.
