Description

The RM of Corman Park is inviting applications for the position of FullTime Mapping Technician.  
The successful applicant would be responsible to the Director of Public Works, but having interaction with other departments, notably the Planning & Development Department.  The Mapping Technician is responsible for completing in a professional, visually consistent and easy to understand manner all mapping for the R.M.  This includes but is not limited to regular updates to the R.M. map, general maps and subdivision maps, as well as the creation of public works maps, zoning maps, advertisement maps, emergency management mapping, and miscellaneous maps and spatial images for council reports. The position also involves generating aerial photos for analysis, managing LIDAR and other spatial data, providing mapping support to assist with capital works and asset management, and coordination of updates to municipal Geographic Information System (GIS) programs(Munisight) as required.  The position will also assign and manage all rural civic addresses, complete utility easement requests from crown corporations and other public utilities, update spatial and mapping information on the R.M. website and complete any other duties that may be reasonable for a Mapping Technician.

A degree or diploma with specialization in Geomatics Technology, Information Management, Geography, Computer Technology, or GIS Certification.  An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
