Description

The Safety Association of Saskatchewan Manufacturers (SASM) is a non-profit corporation providing safety and occupational hygiene training and services to organizations in Saskatchewan. SASM is currently accepting resumes for a Safety Advisor/Auditor position. This is a 1-year term (including a 3-month probation) with the potential for permanent employment.

Please indicate your salary expectations with your application. This position is in the Regina area. A good working vehicle is necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:
Post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree from an accredited college, technical institute or university in Occupational Health and Safety, or Occupation Hygiene with ongoing professional development;
Multiple years experience in health and safety capacity, in a manufacturing or multi-industry;
In-depth knowledge of OH&S legislation, the WCB system, and duties of occupational health committees;
Strong leadership and training skills;
(CRSP) and/or (CHSC) is considered an asset;
OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor or equivalent;
Ability to solve HSE issues and problems as they arise;
Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Responsibilities:
Assist companies to understand and apply the principles of safety management; Design, develop and effectively implement training programs; Conduct evaluations based on industrial hygiene principles and instrumentation and/or on best practice ergonomic considerations; Effectively conduct safety audits and program evaluations; Instruct safety courses; Perform advisory duties such as on-site inspections, job hazard analysis and noise level testing, and reports to detail the results of those activities.
