The Senior Procurement Specialist will work with key stakeholders to understand their requirements, compile specifications, scopes of work (SOW), facilitate vendor selection and negotiate agreements while utilizing templates tools and processes such as RFPs and RFQs.
Responsibilities:
-Lead the full range of procurement processes in a cross functional role, including day-to-day procurement of supplies
-Develop, implement and manage contracts and service level agreements for the procurement of goods, services and leases
-Investigate, develop and promote the use of progressive supply chain tools and technologies to accomplish procurement objectives
-Develop and foster successful, long-term business relationships and ongoing process improvements with key suppliers
-Identify opportunities for operational and procurement process improvement
-Perform bid activity for sensitive/highly visible complex bids
-Lead negotiations for high impact commodities, providing guidance on negotiations, strategy, and negotiation planning, developing a commodity strategy, and presentations/communication consistent message to suppliers
Requirements:
-8 to 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement role with a minimum 3 years of contracts experience
-A Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, or diploma in Supply Management
-Excellent interpersonal communication skills
-Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
The ability to meet the requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program is mandatory. All employees are required to apply for and receive a Government Security Clearance.
