Description

You will be required to work under extreme and changing climate conditions, and must be able and willing to work in physically demanding conditions as a member of a team whose responsibility is to ensure public safety.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Street and road maintenance: Patching, Gravelling, Dust control, Sub-base and base repairs, Catch basin/storm system maintenance repair, Storm inspection, Small sidewalk repairs, Small curb and gutter replacement, Replacement of traffic control signs
- Snow Removal/Ice Control: Cleaning and hauling snow (residential & urban connector), salting streets, clean City parking lots, Clearing City sidewalks
- Capital Water and Sewer Systems: replacement of storm pipes and catch basins and assist with subgrade/sub-base/base prep base
- Ability to competently operate Motor Grader, loader, Excavator, and other heavy equipment, with high level of proficiency to effectively assist work crews within project requirements and specifications.
- Augments Labourers with performance of their duties during periods of equipment inactivity
- Competently operate required equipment under a minimum of supervision and at irregular shifts.
- Must maintain effective working conditions and relationships with fellow employees and must maintain open lines of communication with Supervisors.


QUALIFICATIONS:
-Must have Grade 12 or GED equivalency.
-Must maintain RCMP security clearance.
-Class 3A Drivers License is preferred.
-Minimum one year experience
-Firemans Boiler License is preferred
-Current C.P.R. and First Aid Certificates
