Position Description
Reporting to the Director, Business Development, and the Economic Development & Relationship Consultant is responsible to identify, establish and maintain key relationships with the eleven First Nations of the File Hills QuAppelle Tribal Council (FHQTC) Treaty 4 Territory. With the primary goal of our Nations and citizens creating economic development and entrepreneurial opportunities, this role is responsible to provide economic and business advisory services and expertise, engage and connect people and business, and effectively manage projects accordingly.
Education & Experience:
Post-secondary degree in business administration, commerce or similar course of study from a recognized learning institution.
Community and Economic Development Certification is an asset
Minimum of five (5) years successful work experience in a business environment focused on service and relating to economic development
Experience building relationships, collaborating and working with First Nations communities and individuals at all levels
Events management experience is considered an asset
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of economic/business development processes
Knowledge of First Nations governance, Indigenous history and related government programs
Knowledge of funding access and grant writing/application process
