Description

Westridge is seeking a Project Superintendent who will provide the on-site management to ensure timely and efficient execution of projects while maintaining excellent working relations with our labour and industry partners.  The Project Superintendent will help foster a positive & safe work environment that respects, develops and motivates employees at every level. The ideal candidate will manage all field construction from small to large projects.  Civil, municipal/infrastructure experience is mandatory (e.g. water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, bridges, overpasses, etc.)

Qualifications / Responsibilities

Carpentry background preferred  Journeyperson with 15+ years or equivalent knowledge
7+ years previous site superintendent experience
Able to wear the tools and work with, coach and train apprentice carpenters
Strong organizational skills
Understanding of the scope of work
Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings
Quantity surveying experience
Ability to schedule and plan
Strong understanding of project forecasting
Ability to work with construction change orders, notices and revisions
Understanding of OH&S safe work practices
Work collaboratively with project managers, project coordinators and office staff
Work collaboratively with owners, consultants, and other stakeholders
Knowledge of construction contracts
Organize and coordinate all subtrade activities
Quality Assurance/Quality Control
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office software
Supervise and mentor field personnel
Manage and provide leadership for company safety policy and environmental programs
Monitor job costing, quality, forecasting and productivity
Implement and maintain the construction plan including scheduling and logistics
Complete field administration:  timesheets, quantity reports, purchases, job
diaries

Applicant must be able to read and write English & be legally available to work full time in Canada.
