Description

Doepker Industries is a leading Canadian manufacturer of highway semi-trailers. We are continually developing new and innovative designs for our customers across Canada and have won awards and been recognized for business excellence and innovation since 1948.

We are currently looking for multiple permanent, full-time Welders to join our team at our Saskatoon location. Our shifts rotate bi-weekly from days (6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) to afternoons (3:00 p.m.- 1:30 a.m.) and we accommodate shift preferences where possible.

WHAT YOULL DO
Reporting to the Production Coordinator, the purpose of the Welder is to support the manufacturing flow by providing safe, efficient and quality welding processes to ensure our customers trailers are on schedule for delivery.
Key accountabilities include:
Review drawings and problem solve when drawings are not available
Weld horizontal and vertical filets
Weld vertical down filets and vertical down laps
Torch cutting
Weld sub-assemblies and final assemblies
Maintain equipment
Maintain a clean work area
Follow established procedures (safe operating procedures; quality procedures; work instructions)
Share your ideas to contribute to process improvements

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Experience welding on a production line
Pre-employment or production line welding certification is an asset
Experience using hand tools
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to think critically and problem solve
Experience working with drawings
Ability to collaborate with a team
An understanding of hydraulics is an asset
Experience welding on aluminum is an asset
Experience with lean methodology is an asset
