SRI is looking for an experienced Composites Manufacturing Engineer responsible for supporting existing production activities, developing new products and introducing new composite manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
-Design and set up work cells/processes for the fabrication of carbon components
-Support trouble shooting of production issues in a timely manner
-Implement new manufacturing methods
-Maintain manufacturing documentation
-Assist in mentorship and training of less experienced staff
-Coordinate fabricators for product testing and process experimentation
-Support manufacturing of new and existing products to improve efficiency
-Support establishment of internal best work practices
Requirements:
-Minimum 5 years of experience in the production of composites, 10+ years preferred
-Experience with composite manufacturing, vacuum infusion experience is considered an asset
-A mechanical engineering degree or equivalent
-Comfortable in a dynamic environment with the ability to troubleshoot tough problems within design and manufacturing
-Willingness to travel
-CAD experience is preferred
-Previous work implementing lean manufacturing and quality assurance programs is considered an asset
The ability to meet the requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program is mandatory. Successful candidates will be required to apply for and receive a Government Security Clearance.
