Visionpool Business Services is hiring a Planning and Design Technician who will be responsible for outside network route design, RF and Optical planning, design and developing and maintaining standards, best practices and specifications.
Responsibilities:
Outside network Route design a) Develop outside network route design for coordinated projects. b) Develop outside network design for URD c) Obtain all easements, support structures, permits and approvals d) Maintain As-Built records and distribute as required
RF and Optical Design a) Develop, communicate and maintain RF and optical specifications, standards and best practices b) Design both RF and optical networks using best practices and approved specifications c) Supply design and construction documentation for construction staff and contractors
d) Update and maintain RF and Optical designs splice drawings, etc and make available to technicians as required
Develop and Maintain Specifications, Standards and Best Practices a) Be familiar with and utilize current design specifications, standards and best practices b) Develop, maintain and communicate WCG specifications, standards and best practices c) Maintain accurate and organized files
Other Duties a) Develop training sessions that meet the current and future requirements of staff and contractors b) Liaison with internal teams and contractors to provide support to supply solutions for customers. c) Liaison with corporate partners in furthering the goals and objectives

Qualifications:
Minimum Grade 12 AND a 2 year Engineering Technology course OR
Minimum 2 years equivalent industry experience AND 1 year underground and aerial construction experience AND 1 year RF and optical systems design experience
Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD or equivalent computer system
Demonstrated proficiency in manual hybrid fibre/coax plant design
