Mission/Vision:Safe & Healthy Communities,a community driven registered charity dedicated to eliminating injuries while promoting a culture of safety through the promotion of injury prevention education
Job Objective: The Safe Communities Coordinator will be responsible for securing funding for Safe & Healthy Communities. The coordinator will also be responsible for assisting in the implementation of projects as determined by Safe Communities Assiniboia and Area , including the development of a strategic plan. The strategic plan development will be guided by the Safe Communities Leadership Table as well as other stakeholders in the community.
Qualification:*Education or equivalent experience in human services field or Business*Experience in community development and leadership.*Motivation, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in health, safety, and injury prevention.*Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.*Program development skills, social marketing skills, experience with planning and coordinating special events.*Presentation skills, fundraising, and volunteer management experience.*Computer skills and familiarity with technology and social media platforms.*Seek appropriate funding and pursue funding opportunities including fund development through grant writing and proposals, partnership and member?s sponsorship, community fundraising, special events, donations, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Seek appropriate funding and pursue funding opportunities including fund development through grant writing and proposals, partnership and member?s sponsorship, community fundraising, special events, donations, etc. *Act as communication channel/liaison for members, sponsors, partners and media, etc. *Attend leadership table meetingsand other committee meetings as appropriate and perform general administrative duties. * Support the mission of Safe Communities Assiniboia & Area. *Compile statistical data and reports as required. *Other duties as identified.
