Description

Position Summary:
A Logistics Supervisor is responsible for booking transportation on the spot market and on a contract basis while communicating the schedule to third party and internal customers.  Logistics Supervisor can leverage AGTs global shipping capacity to provide low cost transportation allowing timely execution of sales contracts.  A Logistics Supervisor spends most of their day negotiating rates, reviewing, planning and dispatching trucks and as well as maximizing our capacity while organizing shipments with existing carrier base and building new relationships.
Job responsibilities:
-    Maintain working relationship with contracted carriers
-    Book truckload, railcar, intermodal, container shipments with existing vendors base
-    Dispatch AGTs own in house trucks
-    Develop AGT logistics presence with potential new carriers
-    Creatively manage internal customer demand to allow timely execution of sales contracts
-    Work with AGT logistics team to identify and execute customer requirements
-    Assess potential risk in supply chain and exercise good judgement in making decisions regarding freight opportunities.
-    Provide guidance and leadership for Logistics Coordinators related to freight decisions
-    Review of carrier rates, invoices, capacity and contract commitments to ensure accuracy
-    Define, create and review analytics to identify successes, pitfalls, and opportunities in global supply chain
