Description

The Town of Lafleche is seeking applications for the permanent position of Water Treatment & Distribution Manager. The Manager ensures that all water and wastewater treatment and distribution complies with the Permits to Operate and Drinking Water Quality Management guidelines. The Manager is also responsible for submitting all required reports in accordance with the provincial regulations and acts as a direct liaison with the Water Security Agency.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate must possess a Class 3 Water Treatment, Class 1 Water Distribution and Class 1 Wastewater Collection and Treatment. An applicant with a Class 2 Water Treatment, working towards a Class 3 may be accepted. The candidate should also be able to perform heavy manual labor.
The applicant should have experience in the functions and operations of a water treatment plant and wastewater collection and discharge.
Duties & Responsibilities
Operations include all points of water production, treatment, storage, instrumentation and control operations of a Class 3 water treatment and Class 1 water distribution, in a newly upgraded facility. The Manager will be required to schedule and oversee all plant operators. The Manager is responsible for all chemical and parts inventory and ordering, monitoring expenditures and assisting with the annual budget.
Compensation
The Town of Lafleche offers competitive wages and benefits. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. This position is for approximately 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, to a maximum of 30 hours per week. The applicant should also be willing to work a casual weekend rotation where necessary. The Town will assist in training costs associated with the applicant maintaining the required continuing education units and certification renewals.
