Description

Diagnose, repair & maintain farm equipment, machinery, and trucks
Proactively maintain equipment at regular service intervals
Ensure all service trucks are supplied with appropriate tools, supplies and parts based on seasonal needs
Develop, implement and maintain an electronic maintenance records program
Accurately record farm activity & maintenance records
Ensure cleanliness and organization of shop tools and equipment
Ensure cleanliness of all equipment and trucks
Partner with management in preparing and managing annual repair and maintenance budget
Obtain and prepare quotes for part purchasing
Maintain & procure shop supplies and parts inventory
Oversee & support other staff assigned to conducting repairs
Seasonally operate farm equipment
Seasonally haul grain, seed, fertilizer, & farm chemicals
Maintain farm fields, yards, buildings
Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures
Position is estimated to be approx. 75% repair and maintenance and 25% equipment operator.  The equipment operator 25% would consist primarily of seeding and harvest.  Seeding (month of May) this position is expected to be part of the logistics team supplying the seeders with product and operate the semi-trucks, service trucks, and fuel trucks.  During harvest (September and October) would be expected to be part of the harvest team operating combine, grain cart or semi truck.  During both seeding and harvest priority would be for this position to be the lead on any major repairs that need completing so would only operate equipment if no repair work is required on the fleet.
