Description

SIGN operates a co-ed group home licensed for five adolescents. The home provides a residential group care program to assist the youth in understanding and resolving personal and family issues. The objective of the home is to prepare youth to successfully return to the care of parents or guardians or to provide support to the youth leading to independent living.
The AGH Youth Care Worker, under the direction of the AGH Program Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day residential operation of the Adolescent Group Home.  A Youth Care Worker supervises mentors and cares for the needs of each resident in the home.  Youth Care Workers are to role model positive attitudes and behaviours, and strive to develop healthy relationships with each youth.
The positions are short notice call in to fill shifts for day, evening and/or night rotations.  Rate of pay will be as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the union.
Duties Include:
    Collaborate with coworkers and youth to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate youth care
    Ensure that the nutritional and health requirements of all residents are met.
    Document all relevant information pertaining to the residents and maintain necessary files
    Plan, teach and participate in social and recreation opportunities
    Complete daily reporting and filing as needed

Qualifications:
We are looking for individuals with experience, energy and aptitude to support youth. Assets also include: experience working with youth in a residential setting; developing and implementing programming; effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work well with a team; post secondary education.
