The Autism Resource Centre offers therapeutic summer programs for children and youth with ASD. All participants are paired one-to-one with a staff member who assists with goal-oriented teaching and ensuring children have a safe and positive summer. In this position, you will gain valuable hands-on experience working with children/youth with Autism.
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication skills
An interest in/knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Adaptable & energetic personality to keep up with the demands of campers and the schedule of events
DUTIES
Carry out the campers individualized program plan and daily scheduled events
Complete daily communication notes and record data on camper goals
Utilize the strategies taught on a consistent basis and ensure camper safety by following the policies and procedures during all program activities; you must also adhere to the ARC confidentiality contract
Maintain a level of professionalism at all times
TERMS
Consistent commitment to work from July 5th until August 19th, 2021. Shifts are either 7:45 AM-12:30 PM OR 12:45 PM-5:30 PM. Mandatory paid training will be held virtually in June and on-site July 2
A Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector search is required. First Aid & CPR C Certification is recommended
Must be working towards or hold a University degree or College diploma in a related field or have the equivalent experience
