Description

Regina Youth For Christ is a organization dedicated to helping youth and their communities, worldwide, reach their full potential by tackling causes of isolation and hopelessness. Motivated by our faith, we serve the youth in Saskatchewan - regardless of their religion, race, ethnicity, or gender - as a demonstration of God's unconditional love for all people.

The right candidate will be experienced and/or educated in working with youth or young adults in a supportive environment and be available to work either day shifts.

Leadership
The ability to oversee youth while on shift
Plan and coordinate recreational activities for the youth
Set and maintain healthy professional boundaries
Ability to ensure that the youth needs are being met and that the daily assigned tasks are being completed
Meet regularly with the Program Manager for planning and reporting meetings
The ability to follow house routines, procedures and expectations at all times

Health and Safety
Implement the fire and evacuation drills and plans
Monitor the administering medication and ensuring that the medication procedure is followed
Follow House OH&S guidelines
Bring all concerns of procedure and staff or youth health and safety issues to the Program Manager

Youth Care
Supporting the Youth Case Plan at all times
Build trusted relationships with youth and staff
Motivate and empower youth
Support youth in problem solving and decision making
Provide behavioral support as needed by redirecting behavior and applying consequences where appropriate
Ability to hold a youth accountable for their choices
Ability to communicate effectively to support youth and inform agencies
Ability to provide conflict management and to refer issues
Must have a valid class 5 drivers license and a criminal record check with vulnerable sector.
