The Yellow Thunderbird Lodge - Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services Inc. (YTL-YTCCFS INC.) is a seeking an energetic, enthusiastic individual to fill the Prevention Services Worker Position for Ochapowace Nation.The successful candidate will be required to work as a team member of the multidisciplinary prevention team assigned to the implementation of the integrated strategy across primary, secondary, and tertiary setting within the service area. The Prevention Services Worker will provide an alternate, holistic, and/or eclectic approach to the well-being of the child, the family and community understanding within their respective First Nations. The delivery of this service will be based on the development of prevention services with a strong cultural foundation in the ways of knowing, reasoning, values/virtues, and beliefs as taught through the culture and tradition of the First Nation people. The Prevention Services Worker will network with community-based programs, the respective Prevention Service Committee and YTL - YTCCFS Inc. to provide relevant community-based prevention services. Preference will be given to Community Members or residents. This Position will be located on the Ochapowace Nation and will be focused on community relation to prevention resources, and in conjunction with the YTCCFS team approach. The position will enhance growth and development for children and youth at risk, provide support and guidance to families at risk, and shall be supervised by the Prevention Services Manager.
Qualifications:Certificate in Social Work (CSW or CISW) OR twenty-four (24) months direct child protection services experience OR Bachelor of Social Work (BSW or BISW) OR a Four (4) year University undergraduate degree in related discipline and eighteen (18 months of relevant work experience OR Grade 12 with a minimum of five (5) years experience in a related field of employment.
