Finish Grader Operator - Highway
Seasonal, Full-Time

Carmacks Enterprises Ltd. is a civil contractor, specializing in road and bridge construction and maintenance, in business for over 40 years. We are currently seeking a Seasonal Finish Grader Operator for the upcoming 2021 season (May-Oct). Travel in Saskatchewan will be required.

Reporting to the Highway Division Foreman, Finish Grade Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the self-propelled motor grader to precisely spread and mix materials in order to pre-finish grade before paving.

Job Duties:
    Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
    Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
    Operate grader, observing reference stakes or hand signals of other workers to the specified grade.
    Operate Grader on public roadways, safely and efficiently
    Ensure grader is in proper gear and is not moving too fast for working conditions.
    Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and drawings.
    Ensure company equipment is operated in a safe manner and in accordance with Carmacks Equipment maintenance practices.
    Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
    Complete daily safety documentation.

Qualifications:
    Minimum 10 years experience working in road construction
    5 years experience operating as a Finish Grader
    Highways Roadbuilding experience is an asset
    Knowledge of construction methods, road construction materials, heavy equipment operation and industry requirements.
    Valid Driver License with clean drivers abstract.
    Successful candidates must be able to meet pre-employment testing requirements.

This position requires the candidate to work in remote locations in Saskatchewan. You must be able to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time. Overtime and weekend work is required.
