Job Description: The Exercise Therapist reports directly to the Primary Health Care Manager or his/her Designate. The Exercise Therapist is responsible for the development, modification and delivery of community based, individual/group and home exercise programming for people with acute conditions and chronic disease (including, but not limited to: cardiac, diabetes, pulmonary, musculoskeletal). The Exercise Therapist works closely with Physicians, Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical/Occupational Therapist Assistants, as well as other health care providers and support personnel.
Required Qualifications

Valid Class 5 driver's license
CSEP Certified Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP)
Current CPR (BLS Level C)
Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to competently use computers and software applications as required by the position
Ability to develop and deliver formal education programs
Ability to travel both within the region and provincially
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to deliver workshops and lecture material to clients and community
Ability to conduct client assessments and engage in effective treatment planning
Ability to demonstrate professional conduct and judgement and ethical behaviour
Good interpersonal skills utilizing sensitivity and courtesy when dealing with patients, staff and physicians
Must be self-motivated and confident in ability to work independently
Knowledge of various medications and their potential effect on activity
Maintain high level of confidentiality
