Job Description: The Manager, Clinical Services is responsible to provide leadership, direction, supervision and clinical management in their assigned service area and Committees of Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford (SHNB). The 284 bed Provincial Psychiatric Rehabilitation Facility is designated for the care of individuals with a highly complex Psychiatric diagnosis and Mental Health care needs, requiring a level of care and frequency of intervention not routinely provided in an Acute Mental Health setting. Services include Short Term Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services, Extended Rehabilitation Services, Forensic Services, and Combined Mental Health/Corrections Services. There are several specialized Psychosocial Rehabilitation programs, outpatient services, forensic program services as well as respite, assessment and consultation on a provincial basis. SHNB provides a specialized environment to individuals living with complex illnesses and behaviors such as violence, psychotic events, and inappropriate behaviors and is part of a province-wide continuum of psychiatric care. The Manager, Clinical Services is responsible for the management of established standards of service as per established policy, Canadian Council for Health Services Accreditation Standards and Professional Standards of Practice.

Major Challenges:
Encounters unique challenges related to SHNB being the only provincial Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Forensic and Integrated Mental Health/Corrections facility in Saskatchewan.
Due to the complex dynamics associated with this patient group, there are daily challenges related to the ongoing provision of safe, quality care, safe work environment balanced with optimizing the patients autonomy in a patient directed environment.
