As part of the Protective Services Department, the City of Humboldt is currently seeking to fill a Part-Time Safety Coordinator. The successful applicant will serve in a term position until the end of 2021, with the intention of being reviewed for additional hours in 2022. The successful applicant will report to the Protective Services Director and utilize an office space within the Humboldt Firehall.
Overview:
Under the overall direction of the Protective Services Director, the employee in this position will become familiar with and administer the Health and Safety System for the City of Humboldt. Oversee the administration of the OHS training program and record keeping. The employee will be asked to perform accident and near-miss investigations and act as a resource for information relating to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations of Saskatchewan.
Qualifications:
1. Two (2) year Diploma in Human Resources Management or Business Administration or equivalent.
2. One (1) year Occupational Health and Safety Training Practitioner certificate or demonstrated knowledge relevant to municipal operations.
3. Minimum Two years related work experience.
4. Skilled in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office, training management software and safety data sheet (SDS) database.
5. Valid Class 5 Drivers License
Compensation:
Rate of pay ranges from $28.39 per hour to $34.08 per hour based upon experience. Employees are eligible for the employer matched defined pension plan, and other benefits, however part-time employees are not eligible for the health benefits program until they reach full-time hours.
Hours of Work:
This is a newly created position that is based on 20 hours per week for 2021. A review of the position will be undertaken near the end of 2021 to determine if hours per week will increase for 2022.
