Answering to the Prevention Supervisor, the male prevention worker is responsible for:
Facilitate Family Circles in a time sensitive manner
Provide educational programming in the school system
Develop and Facilitate programming to improve outcomes for children and families
Coordination of annual youth conference in partnership with the school system
Host workshops on appropriate parenting and life skills
Advocate for and assist with clients in addressing barriers
Referrals to community agencies for needs such as counselling services, alcohol and drug programming, assessment, etc.
Identify, document and report to Family Service Workers physical, emotional, and behavioral indicators of abuse, neglect and emotional injury
Enter all relevant case notes in case management system
Ensure all programming has a traditional component and involves community Elders
Work evenings and weekends as required to meet programming needs
