Description

The Great Plains Air Zone (GPAZ) is seeking a committed and skilled administrator for the part-time position of Executive Director.

As the Executive Director of the Great Plains Air Zone, you will work closely with the volunteer board of directors and committee members to support the collection, dissemination and management of air quality data for a large area of Saskatchewan that includes the cities of Moose Jaw, Regina, and Yorkton. The non-profit organization is governed by a board of directors that includes representatives from government agencies, industry, and public and non-government groups.

Duties include: managing contracts, organizing meetings (online), preparing and circulating documents and minutes, billing, communications activities including coordinating the preparation and distribution of the annual air monitoring report.

The ideal candidate will:
Be an independent worker with reliable interpersonal and public relations skills;
Be adept in running online meetings and social media communication activities.
Possess experience supporting volunteer boards of directors and have proven organizational management ability in a nonprofit setting;
Have education and/or experience in science and program management, preferably related to air-quality monitoring.

The board anticipates that the hours required for delivery of these services will be 7 to 10 hours per week. This is a contract position and as such, GPAZ provides no office space or equipment, including a computer. The starting contract rate is $50 per hour and is payable by monthly invoices. At this time this work may be done from any location; however, contractors are expected to be present at all meetings held in Regina should in person meetings resume.
