Description

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Finance and Administration, the Financial Accountant shall be responsible for assisting the Senior Director with the management of overall financial operations within YWCA Regina and will work collaboratively to provide accurate financial information, including preparing financial reporting, financial analysis, account reconciliations, and budgeting and forecasting assistance. This role will direct and manage the day-to-day accounting functions, producing monthly financial results, reporting and providing analysis on monthly results to Senior management; and management of various projects within the Finance Department.
Responsibilities:
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and developing effective systems to support the YWCAs financial accountability. Specifically:
    Maintains current and accurate records of YWCAs financial transactions;
    Maintains and reconciles general ledger;
    Supervises the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll;
    Prepares monthly financial statements for each department;
    Monitors income and expenditures relative to budget projections and makes recommendations for cash flow management;
    Administers the credit and collections policies;
    Assist with the annual budgeting process;
    Acts as liaison with external auditors and prepares all audit documents required by audit firm;
    Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial information;
    Specific projects and other related duties as required.
