Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

You will be responsible for ensuring effective communication and collaboration with all clients, the media, journalists, consultants, partners, and stakeholders.

- Develops and implements marketing and public relations strategies that grow, shape and maintain brand awareness of SIEF.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates communication and marketing strategies designed to inform current and prospective clients and the public of SIEF programs and services.
- Develops and implements advertising campaigns appropriate for print and electronic media.
- Manages SIEFs online presence, including website development, social media management and digital communication.
- Leads the planning, organization, set up and hosting the Annual General Meeting and other SIEF hosted events.
- Leads the preparation and distribution of external reports such as the Annual report and periodic newsletter.
- Travel will be required.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- An undergraduate degree in Journalism, Marketing or Business Administration with 2 to 3 years related experience, or a diploma in Journalism, Marketing or Business Administration with 3 to 5 years related experience.
- A combination of education, training and experience is considered.
- Knowledge of social media; keeping up with social media trends to leverage them effectively for SIEFs advantage.
- Knowledge of editing, copyrighting, media writing and graphic design.
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and ability to travel.
- Competency in using MS Office suite, website development, multimedia design and development software.
- Knowledge of First Nation organizations and culture would be an asset.
- Must hold a valid Class 5 drivers license and must be bondable.
