Description

The Unity Community is looking for a full time Daycare Director who is a responsible, professional, mature, energetic and committed individual who enjoys working with children. We provide childcare for children between the ages of 18 months to 12 years old.


Objective:
- To ensure the provision of quality childcare service which fulfills the philosophy of the centre.
-To ensure that the centre is operated in compliance with the Child Care Act and the Child Care Regulations.
- To administer the policies of the Board of Directors by developing and implementing procedures which meet the goals and objectives of the centre.


Experience:
1-2 years


Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers
- Order supplies and equipment
- Maintain daycare supplies and equipment
- Assist in housekeeping duties
- Maintain records of children
- Staff scheduling
- Childcare scheduling
- Meal planning
- Ensure the well-being and safety of children enrolled in the daycare
- Implement inclusive practices and programming to ensure all children participate in the child care program
- Plan and implement programming appropriate to the developmental level of children which embraces the vision and principles of Play Exploration: Early learning and Program guide
- Assist children with all necessary care routines. (Diapering, toileting, hygiene, etc.)
- Communicate and collaborate with families, colleagues- and the community to support high quality child care.
- Administrative skills


Requirements:
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree
- Early Childhood Education Assistant Certificate
- Current First Aid/CPR or willingness to obtain
- Current clear criminal record check in the vulnerable sector


Wage is based on education and experience
