Now Recruiting for Regional Returning Officer (RRO) and Assistant Regional Officer (ARRO) Positions

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Electoral Officer, the RRO and ARRO will plan and organize the delivery of the Metis Nation  Saskatchewan Election in the region in which they reside. Establishing a returning office, securing polling locations, hiring and training election staff, and managing the distribution and return of election materials are some of the job responsibilities.  

The RRO and ARRO must ensure compliance with the Saskatchewan Metis Election Act, 2007 and with directives from the Chief Electoral Officer.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

Must have good communication skills
Must be well organized, reliable, and discrete
Must have good people skills, be a problem solver and sensitive to special needs situations
Must have experience with Internet, email, and word processing
Must be able to recruit, hire and train employees
Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Must have good knowledge of your region
Previous election knowledge and the ability to communicate in languages spoken in the Region would be assets.

Conditions of Employment:

To be considered for employment you must be available to work from April to May 31, 2021.   You must be willing and able to work long hours as well as Saturdays.  Applicants must be non-partisan, impartial and must maintain confidentiality.  RROs and ARROs cannot be related to a candidate, or work on behalf of a candidate.  RROs and ARRO may not hold an elected office.
