Job Description: The Employee Health Nurse (EHN) is accountable for assessment, planning, implementing and evaluation of the health and health risks for Health Care Providers employed within the Prince Albert Area. The Employee Health Nurse integrates clinical expertise with occupational health and public health methodologies to provide confident, ethical, autonomous decisions to fulfill the EHN scope of practice.


Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing Preferred
Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing or Occupational Health Certification or ability to obtain certification within 3 years of employment

Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Occupational Health or Public Health Nursing

Other: Registration or eligibility for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association
Maintenance of required competencies related to management of anaphylaxis and immunization administration
CPR Health Care Provider
Ability to apply advanced computer skills
Possession of a valid Class 5 drivers license
    Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation as pertains to Health Care Workers (Saskatchewan OH&S Act & Regulations, Saskatchewan Workers Compensation Board (WCB), Public Health Act and any other Federal, Provincial or Municipal legislation pertinent to employee health and safety)
    Knowledge in community health and public health concepts
    Knowledge of immunology and biological products used for immunization
    Knowledge and ability to interpret serology
    Knowledge of communicable diseases, follow up, reporting and infection control best practice
    Knowledge of provincial and  regional blood and body post exposure and communicable disease exposure policies and procedures
    Knowledge and ability to interpret the Saskatchewan Health Immunization Manual (SIM)
