Description

Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker/Intensive Support Worker provides a range of culturally appropriate, professional, specialized mental health and behavior management services to clients, families, allied helpers, and other professionals. The Social Worker/Intensive Support Worker works collaboratively as a member of the care team adopting flexible and functional roles consistent with Edwards Manor contractual obligations.

Position Summary:
The goals of Camponi Housing Corporation Social Workers include, but are not limited to:

    Utilize knowledge and understanding of Indigenous history, crisis practices/strategies, cultural practices and views to support clients in learning more about their own cultural practices and views
    Provide clients with intensive residential support and counselling services that assist in the stabilization and maintenance of housing
    Provide clients with ongoing individualized support and counselling services that promotes the development and growth of their self-esteem, independence and self-sufficiency
    To empower our clients and improve their quality of life
    Participate in the development of individualized client plans and establish/ coordinate support services internally and with outside agencies
    Committed to delivering high quality service to all of our clients
    Understand and practice of harm reduction strategies
    Knowledge of community resources
Qualifications:
    Bachelors degree in Social Work  BSW / BISW. Equivalent experience and education may be considered.
