Job Summary.
The role of Recreational Programmer is to provide community and in-house programming for children with complex medical needs, and implement the philosophy and goals of Hopes Home. They create an environment that promotes learning, individuality, growth and development while upholding the highest standards for daycare practice. The Recreation Programmer will assess the program and lead staff in a positive way that ensures the safety and well-being of all children are being met.

Responsibilities.
- Work cooperatively with the Hopes Home team to develop and implement programming for children with diverse needs in a multi-aged home environment.
- Plan and provide daily experiences that support and promote each childs physical, emotional, social, communicative, cognitive and creative skills.
- Develop and maintain an environment that supports and encourages the development of all children.
- Write developmental assessments and anecdotal records to document developmental milestones, set goals and create action plans for future development.
- Create a calendar of activities for the house and have available to all staff.
- Collaborate with all staff and take their input on the childrens progress and use their feedback for assessment and programming.
- Develop and maintain a warm, caring, and responsive relationship with every child.
- Perform Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech therapy programming under the direction of Rehabilitation Personnel, and nurses.
- Work with childrens support team to develop Personal Program Plans and program activities to help meet their personal development goals.
