Description

The Health Faculty Nursing Instructor is an in-scope position reporting to Program Manager or designate.  The instructor will be responsible for providing instruction and tutorial support to students registered in Health Programming and preparing certain students to write the CPNRE and NCLEX.  Areas of instruction include courses in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, the Practical Nursing and Continuing Care Assistant programs.  Additional responsibilities include overseeing student clinical placements, monitoring and providing feedback on student progress, submitting reports, and other duties as assigned.  Prepare class sessions and assignments to help students grasp course content and demonstrate the integration with overall student learning outcomes for the course.  Create a learning environment that encourages student involvement and participation.  Document students attendance, participation, and academic progess by giving and grading assignments, projects, quizzes and/or examinations that lead to a final grade.

The minimum qualifications for this position are: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, or a Nursing Diploma with a Bachelors Degree in a respective field, and two years of related experience.  Current registration with SRNA, and a valid class 5 drivers license are also required.  

Candidates must demonstrate supervisory skills in managing and evaluating people, handling problems, and conflict resolution.

Instructional delivery methods may include the use of technology and online platforms.  The successful candidate must be able to (or willing to learn how to) effectively deliver curriculum via a blended or online delivery model.
